Description / AdBlue® IBC

AdBlue® from Landowner® supplied in 1000 litre IBC’s is ideal for the larger user, typically using AdBlue® in commercial vehicles or plant. Landowner Blue is supplied in full accordance with ISO22241 and is also Euro 5/6 Compatible, with the IBC cap sealed and tagged to ensure that the product has not been tampered with. Our IBC’s for AdBlue® have both a top outlet and a bottom outlet, allowing you to dispense the product in a way to best suit your operation. The top outlet features a CDS system which will fit to the connector on most AdBlue® pumps, whilst the bottom outlet allows a gravity dispensing kit to be used. Both dispensing solutions are available as follows:

Deposits

Due to the unique nature and high value of the IBC containers that we use, we require a deposit to be taken on each IBC which is refunded upon the return of the same container in good condition. This is carried out as follows:

  • For new customers, we charge a £140 refundable deposit which is refunded upon your return of the IBC if no further IBC's of our product are ordered and on the condition that no seals are broken, all caps are in place and the IBC is in good condition with no visible signs of damage. Please select ‘First order - new customer including IBC deposit’ if this is your first order with us.
  • For existing customers, who simply want to replenish their AdBlue®, we will deliver a fresh 1000 litre IBC of AdBlue® and collect your existing Landowner Blue IBC - please select ‘refill existing customer - IBC to collect’ from the drop down menu.  In this instance, the deposit from your initial order is retained and allocated to the new IBC delivered (to ensure that a deposit remains on each IBC at your premises).
  • Please note that all IBC's returned must only be Landowner Blue IBC's - if IBC's returned are not ours we reserve the right to invoice any costs incurred for transport and also for the IBC at £140 + VAT.    If the empty IBC is not ready for collection when the replacement IBC is being delivered, then you will be required to pay a re-collection fee for that empty IBC or an additional IBC deposit charge (£140 + VAT).  If the empty IBC is returned damaged and/or with seals broken, then you will be charged £140 + VAT for the IBC.
  • If you no longer wish to continue with your IBC refills, we will refund the cost of your original IBC deposit when the IBC is returned back to us in good condition with all seals in tact.  The cost of returning the IBC is down to the customer.  If we are requested to collect the IBC, then the amount refunded will have the transport costs  deducted.

AdBlue® Questions

  • Is there only one sort of AdBlue®? chevron-up chevron-down

Yes – please check that any AdBlue® that you purchase is made to ISO22241 specifications by a Verband der Automobilindustrie e.V. (VDA) licensed AdBlue® manufacturer like ourselves. We are fully licensed and our AdBlue® is suitable for all vehicles that require AdBlue®.

  • How much AdBlue® will I need to use? chevron-up chevron-down

Your vehicle will automatically use AdBlue® at the required amount:

For commercial vehicles AdBlue® usage is typically about 5% of diesel used. So for every 100 litres of diesel that is used, you will need 5 litres of AdBlue®.

For passenger cars, the AdBlue® warning light will come on when you have about 3 litres left. AdBlue® tanks on passenger vehicles generally range between 12 and 20 litres capacity.

  • Is AdBlue® a fuel additive? chevron-up chevron-down

No. There is a separate AdBlue® tank on vehicles that require AdBlue®.

  • How long can I store AdBlue®? chevron-up chevron-down

For Bulk Containers (1000 litre IBC’s and Barrels), provided AdBlue® is stored at a constant ambient temperature below 25 degrees C, out of direct sunlight and in accordance with the instructions on the container it’s shelf life is 18 months.

For small pack containers (10 and 5 litre cans) if the container remains un-opened and it is stored at a constant ambient temperature below 25 degrees C, out of direct sunlight and in accordance with the instructions on the container it’s shelf life is 18 months. We do recommend that once opened the can is used in full, so as to minimise any risk of contamination potentially caused during the process of re-sealing the can and storing the spout for later use.

  • I already have an empty AdBlue® IBC container which has come from another company - can you accept this? chevron-up chevron-down

Unfortunately not, we are only able to accept Landowner Blue empty IBC’s as part of our ISO22241 quality assurance. If you want to order an IBC of AdBlue® from ourselves and do not have a Landowner Blue IBC to return you would need to select “First Order”; if you do have a Landowner Blue IBC to return please select “Refill”. If non Landowner IBC’s are returned we would have to invoice the £140 + VAT deposit to you.
